Back Ropes introduces the Natural
Granbury, TX – Fast Back Ropes is
excited to introduce a new rope this fall, The Natural. The Natural is a
nylon-poly blended, four-strand, with a feel unlike anything Fast Back
currently manufactures. “We have always built ropes with lots of body,
among other characteristics,” explains Al Benson, General Manager of
Fast Back. “With the evolution of rope making, we realize ropers are
unique and not everyone likes the same thing. Ropers speak, we listen
and the Natural is the result of that process.”
The Natural is a highly visible natural
color made of specially manufactured materials for better grip on the
horn. Ropers will appreciate the Natural’s extreme durability and
consistent performance in all weather conditions. The Natural is
slightly deader with more tip weight and is very forgiving. This rope
will be a good fit for many ropers who are not currently Fast Back
users. Ropers who prefer a rope with less body and more tip weight will
love the Natural.
“When heeling with this rope, it molds
to the ground without bouncing,” explains BFI champion and PRCA heeler,
Ryan Motes, “I like that the Natural comes tight fast and grabs and
holds the horn extremely well.”

The newest line in Cactus Rope is the Xplosion head
rope it is a four-strand nylon/poly blend. The high percentage of poly
puts the focus of the weight and body to the center of the rope. This
blend of nylon and poly places the emphasis of your swing on the tip and
adds durability to the rope. The heel rope is also a nylon/poly blend.
It is slightly smaller in weight and diameter than traditional
four-strand heel ropes, allowing the roper to get plenty of rope speed
for a consistent throw time after time.
From the beginning, back in 1991, the goal at Cactus
Ropes has been to produce the best ropes on the market. New,
state-of-the-art equipment enables us to produce ropes that are
scientifically engineered, without the old-fashioned guesswork once
common in rope making. The majority of the Cactus employees are ropers
who swing and test batches of ropes every day. Afterwards, they’re put
in the hands of some of the best professionals in the business.
Professional cowboys like Allen Bach, Clay O’Brien Cooper, Matt
Sherwood, David Key, Bobby Mote, Daniel Green, Chad Masters, Stran
Smith, Riley Minor and Brady Minor are just a few that provide
invaluable input.
With a full line of ropes, including Cactus team
ropes, calf ropes, ranch ropes and kid ropes, we have something to offer
anyone who swings a rope. All our products are chosen and scrutinized
for quality to provide you with only the best ropes, clothing, tack and
accessories.
Rattler
Rope, a diverse and innovative rope company that had established itself
as a leader in the calf roping world, as well as with team ropers, moved
to Texas and joined the Equibrand group in 1997. With the integration of
Rattler Rope, Classic Rope and Rattler Rope became the only two rope
companies that manufactured their own string which every rope was built
upon. Through this one-of-a-kind in-house process, quality and precise
formulations of fibers are designed from scratch which gives the ropes
those industry-renounced “feel” characteristics. Today, they are still
the only company that manufactures string from a raw material, the very
building blocks on which all ropes are made.
In
1986 in Granbury, Texas, Classic Rope started as one of the first
companies to devise and perfect machine manufacturing of the lariat
rope. Countless hours were spent formulating rope components that could
withstand all types of roping conditions, both indoor and outdoor.
Initially founded for the sole purpose of supporting the event of team
roping, Classic was able to offer a consistent structure and sensitive
feel in their ropes like no others on the market. Because of its quality
and appeal, Classic Rope quickly became the leading rope manufacturer
that professionals grew to depend on, and still use and trust today. As
Classic Rope surpassed its own horizon, new innovations unfolded and the
next generation of companies developed.

Few people who rope today
can remember the days when the only rope available was the coiled
aged rope. Back then rope companies would buy nylon rope by the foot
from a coil. They would then cut it into desired lengths and stretch
it out to lay in the sun and elements, often for several months at a
time until it was cured and ready to use.
Fast Back initially
started with two ropes – one, 100% nylon and the second, a
poly-blend. The Fast Back line has since grown to eight ropes,
including three four-strands and a calf rope. Fast Back’s first
endorsee was Steve Purcella, who joined them in 1996, and went on to
win a world championship that year. In 1997, Curt took a position
with Professional’s Choice building ropes in Tolar, Texas, less than
ten miles from Granbury and just a few minutes from his home.
In 2003 Curt Matthews
joined Al at Fast Back, reuniting the most experienced team in the
business. This is the same team that produced two #1 sellers; first
the Moneymaker at Classic, and then again with the Mach III at Fast
Back. There’s a tremendous benefit from having worked together so
long. Not only do they think similarly, their combined sixty-one
years experience leaves little they haven’t seen or tried.
When asked what surprises
them most about the evolution of rope making, Curt quickly answered
and echoed by Al, “The size. For years the ropes we made were all
7/16, I would never have dreamed ropes would become so small in
diameter, or the sport so big.” |
